BethAnne Lutz was born in Pennsylvania surrounded by meadows, woods and creeks. Her love of the outdoors grew tremendously throughout her life. She has always been drawn to trees and forests. Naturally, photography was her first creative interest and was cultivated during her teenage years. She pursued fine arts in college graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in metalsmithing from Syracuse University. She designed and created a successful jewelry line of sterling silver twigs, textured stones and semi-precious gems that sold in galleries across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
After moving to the Unami Creek Valley, she further developed her love of photography for she was surrounded by an abundance of inspiration. The photographs that BethAnne takes on her walks in the Unami Forest are brought to the computer screen where she paints dreamlike moods and surreal atmospheres.
It is a collaboration between the artist, the land and modern technology. BethAnne cherishes her connection with nature and believes that there is more to a moment than what you see with your eyes; there are the smells, sounds, thoughts and life experiences. All of these influences are real and integral to BethAnne’s photography and the creation of the final image.
